Job Description

The Company: A highly regarding Wealth Management firm who are part of a larger group and are looking to bring in a Paraplanning Team-Leader into their technical team. This will be based out of their Chesterfield site in a hybrid working setup. They are a financial advisory firm that offers personalised wealth management services, focusing on helping clients achieve their financial goals through tailored investment strategies, retirement planning, and risk management.

The Role: You will provide technical paraplanning expertise to a private wealth focused financial planners whilst overseeing the wider paraplanning team and structure across multiple sites. Duties include:

  • Analysis of client policies (incl. pensions, investments, protection) to review whether they are still aligned with their objectives, for more complex advice cases.
  • Constructing advice for presentation to the adviser and client.
  • Competent with complex Tax calculations e.g. CGT, IHT etc
  • Preparation of correspondence including letters and emails to clients
  • Obtaining policy information and preparation of data for client meetings
  • Preparation of client review letters and suitability reports for the Financial Adviser and preparation of accompanying documentation as required.
  • Hold excellent knowledge of research/software tools research tools such as Defaqto, IO fact finds, FE analytics and Excel etc.
  • Act as an Investment Specialist or Pension Specialist, providing advanced technical support and insights in these areas.
  • Junior paraplanner onboarding
  • Support the training and development of other paraplanners and advisers, sharing expertise and leading training sessions as required.

 

The Person: You must be QCF level 4 Diploma qualified and have a demonstrable track record of managing paraplanning workloads for high performing financial advisers and wealth managers. You will:

  • Hold substantial experience (minimum 3 years) in paraplanning
  • Have knowledge of asset classes, portfolio diversification, and investment performance evaluation
  • Understand pension schemes, retirement income strategies, and pension taxation.
