Job Description

The Company: A growing financial planning and wealth management firm combining established face-to-face advisory experience with modern technology technology is looking to recruit a Paraplanner into their expanding technical team. With a strong focus on tailored advice and long-term client relationships, this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional, independent business supporting clients across everything from early-stage financial planning through to more complex private wealth requirements.

 

  • Office Location: Leeds
  • Working Setup: Hybrid – 2-days office & 3-days WFH
  • Hours: Full-time

 

Package: £40-45k base DOE + discretionary bonus

The Role: A technically focused Paraplanning role providing research, analysis and suitability report writing support to a team of Financial Planners. Working closely with Advisers across a private client wealth management environment, the role will involve supporting the preparation and review of suitable financial planning recommendations, with key accountabilities including:

  • Work alongside Financial Planners in the provision and review of suitable investment propositions
  • Discuss client objectives with Advisers and gather the necessary information to support suitability assessments
  • Analyse client fact finds and develop a detailed understanding of their overall financial position
  • Undertake comparative product and investment research to support suitable recommendations
  • Prepare accurate and compliant suitability reports within agreed deadlines
  • Undertake periodic reviews of existing client portfolios using appropriate planning and analysis software
  • Complete technical research as part of existing arrangement and portfolio reviews
  • Maintain strong working knowledge across Retail Investment Products and wider financial planning solutions
  • Liaise with product providers to obtain information and resolve outstanding queries
  • Investigate client queries and ensure accurate and appropriate responses are provided
  • Prepare cashflow models and financial planning projections
  • Ensure all advice and client documentation remains compliant with FCA, FSMA and Consumer Duty requirements
  • Participate in Paraplanner meetings and contribute to client meetings where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure appropriate systems and controls are followed
  • Keep up to date with developments across private client wealth management and the wider Financial Services market
  • Identify opportunities for further development and proactively build technical knowledge through appropriate training

 

The Person: Previous experience within a Paraplanning role in an IFA, Financial Planning or Wealth Management environment is required, alongside strong technical research and suitability report writing experience. The successful individual will have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex client circumstances and translate these into clear, compliant financial planning recommendations.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys working closely with Advisers and wants to remain technically involved across investment research, portfolio reviews, cashflow modelling and wider private client financial planning. The hybrid working setup also provides genuine flexibility whilst retaining the opportunity to work closely with the wider team and client-facing Advisers.
